Sapphire Skies Limited was set up in October 2016 by David Powell to provide safeguarding training for Governors, Staff and Students. 

David currently provides training in five London boroughs and two home counties.

David started to provide GDPR training before the GDPR came in to law in May 2018. David now provides a DPO service to schools which guides schools through the set up and full implementation of GDPR through regular visits. David has an investigative and safeguarding background which places him in a unique position to apply the safeguarding exemptions to GDPR, subject access and freedom of information. 

David spent 15 years advising primary and secondary schools in all aspects of safeguarding and how to record them. From child abuse to weapons, drugs and appropriate student/staff/ parent relationships. David is a former police officer and current school governor. 

During an inspection Feb 2017 Ofsted Stated about David in the inspection report ‘The governor responsible for safeguarding uses his considerable expertise and knowledge to train staff and leaders, as a result they are well informed about current Safeguarding practice for example, the ‘Prevent’ duty, female genital mutilation and child sexual exploration.’
